VCFA Guardians of Literary Mischief Retreat

Join fellow alumni for a retreat. Largely unstructured, with delicious and expertly prepared locally sourced meals, this time will fill your hearts and minds with some peaceful time to reunite with friends, reconnect with other alums, and, of course, write in your own private cabin or room.

You may want to join optional group gatherings in the evenings to share your work, have a fireside chat and s’mores, play games, or watch a movie. You’ll also have opportunities for easy hiking, bird watching and gorgeous sunsets, as you’ll be surrounded by acres of trees, meadows, and farms. This idyllic atmosphere is sure to fill your writer’s well and stoke creative fires well past this retreat experience.

You may check into your lodging any time after 3pm on the 30th.  If you arrive prior to 3pm, you may enjoy the grounds and various work and gathering places around the facility as your room is being prepared. The first meal on campus will be appetizers at 5:30pm and dinner at 6:00pm.  If you arrive late, we can save dinner for you, but would need to know in advance.

Lunch on the final day of your stay is included, but we ask that you check out of your lodging by 11am. You are welcome to leave your packed bags by the door of your room/cabin while you enjoy lunch and say your goodbyes. Housekeeping may enter your room during this period to begin cleaning and prepping for our next guests.  Thank you for your consideration. We will be in regular communication with you as your time on campus draws near.

Three meals a day are included with your reservation, as are round-the-clock hot and cold beverages and snacks. You may register for a single occupancy accommodation. Should you plan to bring a guest or partner, please add them to your reservation. There is a $110 per day fee for a guest. If you aren’t able to add the guest, just put a note in the Comments section, and we’ll reach out to you. And lastly, if you plan to share your accommodation with a roommate, you will see the option to register separately, and you’ll be placed in the same room–just put your roommate’s name in the comments section. In addition, if you’d like to spend an extra night or two on campus at the end of your stay, let us know in the Comments.

There is also free parking on site if you drive.
