Imagine your own private retreat in a picturesque setting – currently just $149/day!

We believe all writers and artists can benefit from the gift of time: time to create and time to dream. That’s why we developed a program called “Unworkshops” that gives you the opportunity to create your own retreat.

In an “Unworkshop,” time is yours to spend as you please. No structure. No schedule. We’ll provide you with comfortable lodging and three great meals a day. From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel right at home and fussed over. We’ll furnish a peaceful setting that lets you focus solely on your work.

Here’s what you can expect when you arrive:

• A cozy, private place to stay, with a writing table and other amenities, including hot beverage center and round the clock snacks
• Breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with the choice to socialize as you wish with like-minded people, or to take meals back to your room on a tray if you are in the middle of a landslide of inspiration.
• Computers and printers available for your use
• Respect for the sanctity of your creative space

Come for any number of days that fit your needs. Stay for a day or a week, as long as you need to create. See what works for you.

Our Unworkshops program has been growing in popularity. We’ve been gratified to see that so many small groups have come here (friends, critique groups, writing partners) as well as individuals, including some of our faculty members. An Unworkshop is an opportunity to give yourself the gift of time.

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Our all-inclusive price means we provide private lodging, all meals, unlimited snacks, and wireless Internet access.  Shuttle service from nearby Honesdale, Monticello and Port Jervis is complimentary, however, there is a nominal fee of $75 roundtrip for Scranton and Newark shuttles.
