A Two-Part Online Mini: Think Like an Artist to Publish Like an Author
December 7 - 8, 2021
TYPE & LENGTH:
Webinar-style, Online (Facilitated with community participation limited to chat and Q & A)
Two, 75-minute Zoom sessions ( Tuesday, December 7 & Wednesday, December 8, 7-8:15pm Eastern)
WHY THIS WORKSHOP?
A good picture book involves a successful collaboration between text and art. What if you aren’t both author and illustrator? How do you convince a publisher that your manuscript will make for a successful collaboration with an artist?
I bet you’ve asked yourself: Should I include art notes? (You’re not alone!)
This mini course will teach techniques to make your manuscript paint pictures with your text. We’ll discuss what details to cut and what to leave in, how to respectfully use illustration notes, and how to build the muscle memory of writing in pictures (even if you don’t actually draw pictures.)
This program is a great fit if you’re looking for something short, sweet, and smart! This is not a full workshop, instead it hosts two, 75-minute sessions offering limited interaction with loads of information.
